Lord “Lia” Lametelia, Rhusait’s 12th legitimate child, returned to the house after nearly twenty years of self-imposed exile. As a former special consultant for Imperial Intelligence and then a deep-cover operative of Sith Intelligence, her attitude and beliefs were considerably more moderate and ‘galactic’ than the hardline traditionalism of her home. Friction was worsened by her announcement of her engagement to “Shi” Shishou, an unarranged marriage considered disgraceful by the traditionalist house and driven by what the family recognized as personal attachment to a human non-Sith self-trained user of the Force. Though declared an envoy of the Sith house of Tairisiu and given the title of Lord in honor of her long lifetime of strength and deeds, Rhusait refused to recognize her status. Discontent swelled to enmity upon discovery that Shi was pregnant with Lia’s child, placing Lia in the line of succession of head of House Torkessh and ascension to Countess if she were to produce an heir.

Rhusait needed a way to remove his charismatic misfit daughter without openly violating Imperial edicts or creating a formal rival. He saw an opportunity to do so by secretly supporting the enemies of Lia’s then-allies, House Tairisiu, in their fight against the aggressions of Darth Zrame. Zrame’s aggression toward the Tairisius lead to the Dark Council allowing a special state of kaggath, declaring a state of war exclusively between the two Imperial forces; however, Rhusait secretly provided Zrame with starfighters from the house’s special forces with the hope of crushing the Tairisius and killing Lia in combat. Unfortunately for him, evidence of Rhusait’s interference with the kaggath was discovered by Lia and the Tairisius.

Though threatened with the risk of House Torkessh being violently dissolved by the Empire as punishment, a joint delegation of Lia and members of House Tairisiu approached Darth Xarion, Dark Council member and head of the Sphere of Galactic Influence. A deal was struck—House Torkessh would be moved from serving Sith Doctrine to Galactic Influence and spared annihilation under the condition that Rhusait and all those involved in violation of the kaggath be executed.
