ENTERING THE STAGE

Entering the Stage

After the rebels destroyed critical hydrocarbon rigs in the Tash Sea, counties across Kots'sutta began crackdowns on rebel sentiments. In true Sith fashion, the actions were typically invasive and violent, and it wasn't long before the Holonet was filled with the news of strong Imperial house troopers breaking up rebel networks and executing known sympathizers. Coupled with the loss of jobs that came from the damage to basic industries connected to the valuable hydrocarbon reserves, the people of Kots'sutta only became more bitter from their wretched situations. While the houses tried to stamp out what rebellion they could see, the strongest rebellions were gaining new members--and resources through a surprisingly plentiful and cooperative network.

The problems boiled over when the leader of the rebel group the "Kots'suttan Army of Achty'ai" (KAA) was assassinated by a strike team by House Achty'ai, the steward of Waizjuny. What followed was open guerilla warfare throughout the jungle region, and then a violent spillover into neighboring counties. Cities were assaulted by a coordinated rebellion armed with Imperial surplus and rage.

The county of Ullitzae, using its seat on the Planetary Security Council, lobbied for--and, after some furious politicking and blackmail, succeeded at--getting the funding for an expeditionary force in the name of a special police action to bring order to Kots'sutta. Supported by a small army of FyrTech droids, House Torkessh lead the expeditionary forces into the burning jungles and broken cities.

Over the next years the Expeditionary and Imperial Reserve forces commanded by the houses of the assaulted counties waged a bloody war against an enemy that would quickly appear and overrun vital economic targets. Millions of citizens from the counties fled as the KAA and house and Imperial forces wrecked the land in skirmishes not too unlike open warfare. As the war waged on, the Expeditionary Forces became the defacto leader of defense against the KAA and the myriad of rebel groups that sprung up on the continent. House Torkessh, once threatened with being erased, became a leader in the asymmetric battle theater of Kots'sutta in the name of the Empire.
