HISTORY

Kots'sutta was one of the first continents settled by the early Old Sith Empire colonists. The central Itsu Plains was dedicated to agriculture, while lords based in the western and southern regions exploited the resources buried in the mountains and fought over the rest of the continent's territory. This land was not spared when the Republic Army arrived; only a few cloisters of Red Sith remained deep in the mountains. Though the Red Sith were exterminated in all other regions of the continent, some forgotten ruins of the Old Sith Empire remained in the Vora and Coyana forests long into the Post-Hyperspace War period.
The large number of slaves used for agriculture during the Old Sith Empire's rule organized into many communities after the defeat and destruction of their Red Sith masters. The plentiful seas and fertile interior land provided easy harvesting of food, but the large population resulted in many factions.
During his career, intelligence operative Rane Kovach carried out an assignment on Drezzi at the request of Theron Shan of the Republic Strategic Information Service; Kovach was tasked with infiltrating dissident groups and fomenting revolution while minimizing casualties.

After the return of the Empire to Drezzi, great canal projects in the Notwasut and Satstsait counties promised lucrative revenue by joining the northern and southern seas surrounding Kots'sutta and opening trade routes for commodities from the nearby northern continent of Ansidia. Soon after the opening of the canals, disputes over the conditions of Imperial citizen labor throughout Kots'sutta began. Conditions were exacerbated by the houses and political leaders of Kots'sutta regarding the appropriation of revenues from the canals by the Crown, with considerable infighting about how to best use the credits to benefit the continent's counties--made worse by the accusations of misappropriations and embezzlement by those very leaders. A slow unraveling of civil order began, with political leaders retreating to major cities much like the Old Sith Empire masters of ancient days.
This unrest was largely ignored by the Crown, which over the decades shifted transportation investments into land routes and ports in Sorza'Imniji to compensate.
