Achty’ai Guard Colonel Found Dead in Icikgua Plaza Incident
Senior logistics officer overseeing Icikgua food convoys discovered slain outside Guard headquarters as investigators review the circumstances surrounding his death.
ICIKGUA, Waizjuny--A senior officer of the Achty’ai Guard responsible for coordinating food distribution operations across Icikgua was found dead early today outside Guard administrative quarters overlooking Achty’ai Plaza, authorities confirmed.
Colonel Trebere, a veteran officer who had overseen several of the city’s ration convoy and aid station deployments in recent weeks, was discovered shortly after midnight by members of his own security detail. Guard officials said the colonel had suffered fatal injuries prior to falling from a terrace connected to his private quarters.
Investigators have not yet released full details of the incident, but authorities described the death as a targeted killing and confirmed that an internal inquiry has begun.
Trebere had been a central figure in Icikgua’s distribution operations during the ongoing supply crisis in Waizjuny. Over the past several days, Guard units under his command have been coordinating the arrival of aid convoys from the county of Ullitzae and overseeing the movement of those supplies through a network of ration stations across the city.
Officials familiar with the operations said the colonel maintained a strict command environment during the effort, insisting that distribution procedures be followed closely as aid shipments increased and public scrutiny intensified.
The Achty’ai Guard has emphasized that maintaining discipline and preventing the diversion of ration supplies remains a top operational priority while Waizjuny continues to stabilize following weeks of unrest.
Authorities have not publicly identified suspects, though investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the colonel’s final hours. Trebere had dismissed members of his ceremonial guard detail shortly before the incident occurred, according to officials briefed on the preliminary inquiry.
Investigators are also reviewing internal personnel matters connected to the colonel’s command staff, several of whom had reportedly been the subject of recent disciplinary actions tied to the handling of ration supplies.
Officials cautioned that the inquiry remains in its early stages.
The killing comes at a sensitive moment in Waizjuny, where tensions remain elevated following the bombing of the Anavniu Memorial Children’s Hospital and the Crown’s ongoing investigation into the broader crisis affecting the county.
Additional Guard patrols were deployed across Icikgua today as authorities secured the plaza district surrounding the headquarters complex.
Imperial and county officials condemned the killing, describing it as an attack intended to disrupt the restoration of order in Waizjuny.
"Those responsible for this act sought to interfere with the stabilization of Icikgua," an Achty’ai Guard spokesperson said in a statement. "They will be found. Operations will continue without interruption, and the Guard’s authority in this city remains firm."
Officials said the investigation into Trebere’s death is ongoing and that further information will be released as the inquiry progresses.
